All politics aside, now that the dust has at least somewhat settled, there are a couple of observations to make: Can a President Govern in Poetry?
- First is that the many struggles suffered by the Youth Poet Laureate, Amanda Gorman as a child, have left us with an immensely talented young woman, with a bright future ahead.
- Secondly like him or not, after two previously failed attempts at the Presidency, and the level of acrimony just endured, you have to give Biden credit for hanging in during the early days of the primaries and keeping his head up in the ensuing colossal struggles that have led to his current status.
Personally, since it is what it is, I take at least some comfort that after serving in the Senate for more than 30 years and being Vice-President for eight, he should have some idea of how things work in his new job. He also knows many if not all the key world leaders, as well as a good many of those he has to work with in his new role.
As a person with a one-half Irish background and as you may have surmised, a strong belief that What Goes Around does Come Around, my bottom line is I wish him the very best in what is likely to be his final “round-up” in the cauldron he wished for and hope he finds the way to leave us better off as a country when his shot at the White House ends.
As for Amanda Gordon whose considerable talent was forged from the caldron of early hardship and may be following ln the footsteps of prior great ones such as Robert Frost and Maya Angelou, her poem, “The Hill We Climb,” was a revelation, and hopefully a healing tonic for that one very special nation, with liberty and justice for all!.

“I’ve read a number of books that focus on sharing a similar message, including “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, “The Answer” by John Assaraf & Murray Smith, “The Celestine Prophecy” by James Redfield, “Think and Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill, and I must say that I find Rob’s to be my favorite.” – Sheryl Woodhouse, founder of Livelihood Matters LLC
