Watch your Thoughts

Watch your thoughts;
they become words.
Watch your words;
they become actions.
Watch your actions;
they become habits.
they become character.
Watch your character;
it becomes your destiny.

Frank Outlaw

This, in fact, has not been the case, with the result that other people or circumstances are often mistakenly thought of as the cause for one’s woes. Most people go through life blaming luck, fate, their parents, education, their spouse, their children, their biorythms, the weather, the economy, the stars, and a host of other forces for their situation in life, rather than understanding that the person in the mirror and that person alone is most likely the cause of where they find themselves.

One of life’s mysteries is why most people have such difficulty making this connection for themselves, particularly when it is so often apparent in others. That is, however, the way it is, and each individual is charged with learning this truth for themselves and applying it to their own lives.
